DOUG JORDAN

Doug Jordan, a native of Indiana was raised around horses.  The son of a Farrier, his father Phil ran a large boarding stable outside   Indianapolis, IN.  Doug trained his first Cutting Horse in Junior High School and qualified for the National High School Rodeo finals in Cutting on several occasions.  After high school he was privileged to work for a few well-respected Cutting Horse trainers, one of which was the late Shorty Freeman.  In February of 1988 Doug attended his first Ray Hunt Clinic in Waco, TX and his training philosophy exploded into a new world of "feel", "timing" and "balance"!  That same year he tied to win the NCHA Futurity riding "Cols Lil Pepper" in a ring snaffle.  Doing less to achieve more has translated now into every aspect of his life!

Ray was a guiding compass and thought provoker for Doug - a mentor who helped him see the horse in a whole new way!

In 2000 Doug was inducted into the NCHA Riders Hall of Fame.

At his training facility in Lone Oak, Texas Doug enjoys working with riders on their horsemanship as well as helping them find a way to connect their horse to the cow with confidence!!
