Martin grew up working on his family’s ranch in southwest Idaho.  After finishing high school he went to Nevada and worked on different large ranches for several years.  He then went back to Idaho to ride horses for the public.  To fill in on the slow time during the winter he started traveling around North America contract colt starting.  Today most of his time is spent sharing his knowledge with other people teaching them roping, stockmanship and horsemanship.
